Lucas

I am a former video editor who, in 2021, decided to change direction and devote myself to another one of my passions: languages. I’ve always loved my native language and sharing with others—so why not teach it to people from all around the world?

I am a graduate of the Alliance Française and have been teaching French professionally for four years. It’s been an incredibly enriching experience for me and an important milestone for my students on their language-learning journey.

I have traveled extensively and have lived and taught in China, Hong Kong, and the United States. I’m always eager for cultural exchange and new perspectives.

In my teaching, I focus on authentic content and real-life conversations, tailored to each student’s goals. I’m passionate about a wide range of topics—from cooking, science, and society to literature, cinema, and more—so I always have interesting materials on hand to enrich my lessons.

My top priority is to make learning French fun, smooth, and effective.

After graduating with two masters, in teaching French as a foreign language, I have been teaching French for six years to various profiles, backgrounds and ages.

From children, to students, diplomats, visitors, professionals, I have a wide range of experience in teaching different levels and different abilities. Besides grammar, phonetics,  and syntax which are the foundations of the language, I always put emphasis on teaching skills that you can actually use in context, in real life situations. If it is useful for you, you will learn it.

In addition, I have been a Parisian for 10 years and I love to pass on my love for the culture of this city: speaking about Paris' eclectic neighborhoods, museums etc. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you to improve your French in a rewarding and encouraging atmosphere !

Cédrelle

As a former journalist, Cédrelle has been teaching French as a foreign language and second language for several years. If she chose Moncton and then Ottawa as her home port, she lived in Montreal for a long time, her first Canadian crush. Where it all began: the great outdoors, North American culture and hospitality. Unfamiliar with the cold and Canadian winters, far from her native Provence, she did not hesitate to trade her cicadas and summer dresses to discover the beauty of the Belle Province.

In addition to Canada, she has also been teaching in Phoenix, Arizona for several years. New York was also one of the cities in which she taught. Cédrelle has had multiple audiences, professionals, students or tourists, both in group and private lessons.

Cédrelle likes to use music, cinema, articles and documentaries authentic supports me at classes. The Edito, Tendances and Défi manuals are his privileged tools, excellent for a communicative or active approach to teaching. Cédrelle adapts and remains attentive to each student, in group and in private. Whether you have some basics in French or an advanced level, you will be in the right place in her class!

From Chile to Vietnam via Sweden and Spain, I taught French to different audiences from A1 to C1, with children, teenagers and adults, from various cultures. Holder of a master's degree in French as a foreign language, I also have a training in theater, which allowed me to conduct drama workshops in French and to use theatrical techniques in my classes.

I use a lot of authentic documents such as excerpts from movies, comics, literature or the press, with the aim of always adapting to the needs of my students. I have taught a lot with children using creative techniques around singing, puppetry, comics, drawing, (I have also been trained in this field) and theater. I am also authorized to correction of DELF DALF exams. Finally, Parisian heart from my childhood, and theatrical guide, I can invite you to discover unique corners, secret or gourmet, through a theatrical or more classical view.

I am from the South of France and after a Business School degree, I worked as a training coordinator in companies, including the headquarter of an international HR company. In 2007 I moved to the USA with my family. After two years in Tennessee, we spent four years in Michigan. There I started to teach French at the French Alliance in Detroit. These experiences were awarding and I decided to continue teaching French when I moved back to France in 2013.

I teach French to all levels to students from various backgrounds. I have a good knowledge of the American culture and of how to deal with a life abroad as a family. Getting used to a new language, to a personal and professional life in a different culture can be challenging.

In my courses I put the emphasis on communication, vocabulary, and grammar. Pronunciation is part of my teaching resources with a method and tools I created myself. Looking forward to meeting you!
