Learn French During Christmas 2021 In Paris

It is Christmas time and you will hopefully have more time to relax and slow down.  Maybe it is the right time to continue improving your French in a more unformal and festive way.

We have selected in this week’s posts a few options to work on your French in Paris with theatre, immersion in easy French and cinema.

- Learn French with Theatre in Paris: French plays with English subtitles and break the language barrier

-The Cantatrice Chauve with English subtitles at Theatre de La Huchette

For the festive season, it is the perfect time to practice your comprehension skills in French out of the classroom and enjoy at the same time the Christmas atmosphere.

By projecting state-of-the-art English translations above the stage (the surtitles),
TheatreinParis enables visitors and French learners to experience famous French plays and musicals first hand.

If you don’t understand everything, it is absolutely not a problem, as all their shows in French are carefully selected to be 100% understandable for English speakers thanks to English subtitles.

During Christmas time in 2021, Theatre in Paris performs one of the most popular French plays : La Cantatrice Chauve (The Bald Soprano) from Eugène Ionesco.

La Cantatrice Chauve is an analysis of 1950s society through the ridiculous interactions of two couples. Join Mr. and Mrs. Smith for a quiet evening at home, yet an evening anything but ordinary. From a series of curious coincidences to a slew of incomprehensible incongruities, how will this evening turn out when the Smiths receive a visit from their dear friends, the Martins?

The Bald Soprano is performed with English subtitles one evening per week (on Friday evenings until December 26th and on Wednesday evenings from January 2nd).
